Identity Crisis

I’ve been “off” for a week and I really loved it.

When I wasn’t worrying about my next post or whatever, I found time to do other things. I took Pookah on his first ever field trip!

I took LOTS of photos!

I read books!

Ladies, PLEASE PLEASE go pick up a copy of 50 Shades of Grey…PLEASE!

I watched TV!!!

I spent wifey time with this frowning man….

Amazingly, my other blog My Life’s Photos, that has been so neglected, got time from me. It was easy. A quick photo, a quick blurb about it, and that was that. I restarted my 365!

So that leaves me in a blogging delimma. On the one hand, I love to blog, I love to write. I love the outlet. But on the other hand, as I have stated before, it’s too much like work around here.

I’m having a blog identity crisis.

You see, I didn’t miss blogging per say last week….

Oh I missed the community, I missed writing, but I didn’t miss….blogging.

The awesomeness and freedom that I feel over at My Life’s Photos is great. Sure, I post everyday over there, but for some reason, I don’t feel as…rushed? I think because that blog is purely for me. I don’t give a hoot who sees it. I’m just using it to improve my photography and to keep a record of our lives.

So how does a blogger solve this blogging identity crisis???

I don’t know.

Soooooo, I’ll be taking some time to figure all of that out.

I’ll still be posting while I figure it out, but probably not as often.

If you get bored, or have Pookah withdrawal, head on over to my other blog or instagram or twitter. I’ll still be around!

And I’ll be thinking about the direction this blog will be taking from here on out.

Because it will be taking a new direction.

I’ve just got to take some time and marinate on exactly WHAT direction that is.

Project 52: Week17: Random photo of the week….

Ok, So I didn’t WRITE anything this week, but I took a lot of photos.

I challenged myself to use only my 50mm 1.8 (the nifty 50) because it’s just been collecting dust since I got my Tamron 28-75 zoom. I had forgotten how to zoom with my feet. AND, I forgot how sharp this lens really is.

Anyhoo, I do have a photo for my project 52, and in case you are really interested, I restarted my 365 over on my other blog. ( Forgot I had one didn’t you???) LOL

Hopefully, I’ll be back to posting next week. I did a lot of thinking, and I might have a lot( or not) to say.

But for now, here is my sweetie…..

Spring Breaking…

Project 52 Week 16: Leap Into Spring

It’s Friday and that means Project 52. This week, I am partipating in the Leap into Spring Challenge that is being hosted by Kristi at Live and Love Outloud, Rebecca of Bumbles and Light and Alicia at Project Alicia. All really cool blogs if you want to check them out.

Anyway, the theme of this week is Blossom/Trees.

I took the perfect picture at my sister in law’s this past weekend.

She has these lovely rose bushes in her front yard. So while She and C-Dub were shooting the breeze and Pookah and CDub’s dad were playing football in the yard, I took a few photos.

As Seen In My Life: Wordless Wednesday

Well, not quite.

I do have something to say about this photo.

I’m learning Lightroom, so I edited this photo with Lightroom instead of PSE 10. It’s a very clean edit. I didn’t do much to it. I’m working on getting my photos right straight out of camera so I don’t have to fix white balance or exposure.

It was my birthday…..

So, I had big plans to post all about my birthday weekend.

Well, my birthday and WORK got in the way.

So instead of a big post today,

I’ll just share one thing…

Yes, I got it!!! I got my iPad3!!!!! I am sooo excited. Too bad I haven’t really had a chance to play with it yet.

And of course, on the recommendation of this post from The Pro Diva , I got this…..

I love it! Good idea for Blogher hmmmmmm??

Anyhoo, we also had barbecue:

Project 52: Week 15:Why So Serious?

Perfection: A Rant

This post is a rant. Just so you know……

I know you’ve seen them.

Hell, you might even be one of them.

Those “perfect” bloggers:

The Perfect blog: posts everyday, perfectly written, with thousands of readers who hang on to their every word.
Blogs filled with Perfectly exposed, Perfectly photo shopped, Perfectly clean and happy homeschooled, clean eating children. ( Because on top of this, you cook a homecooked meal EVERYday. You even plan your meals out 3 months in advance!)
There is always a happily Perfect husband who “supports everything I do.”( And he’s gorgeous too.)
Perfect kids who always obey, always look great in photos, and are just plain Perfect.
Life is Perfect and everyone is happy happy happy.

Who are these women? Stepford bloggers??

I’m always looking for new blogs to read and follow and I KEEP coming across these type of blogs. Why do they have such large followings? I ask myself.

Why do we as fellow bloggers follow perfection in mass? Why do we read over and over how perfect someone is, how perfect their life is every day day in day out?

Is it an escape? Do we read for tips? The fantasy? Wishing we were like them?

I must say, to me, it’s boring. And annoying as hell.

Annoying because as I get into trying to make a little bit( just a little bit) of cash from my blog here, I notice that all of the opportuities and sponsherships and reviews go to these bloggers. How is a normal small REAL blog like me to compete?

Is it that we don’t want to read real? That the fantasy of a mom out there doing it all is what we want to read? What brands want to read?

I don’t know about you, but I kind of like reading about people’s imperfections. I like reading about tips for organizational skills and recipes and parenting ideas too. But I want REAL life experience too. Maybe because it helps me see that others are human. Just Like Me.

As Seen in My Life…My Epiphanie

Remember this?

It’s my Epiphanie Belle bag.

I’ve had this bag since Christmas and I must say, I do take it with me when I go out with Pookah.

It’s great how I can carry my camera, wallet, pull ups, wipes, sippy cup, snacks, notebook etc…all in this bag.

It’s HUGE.

It can be carried too ways: by the two handles( shown in the above photo) or by the long strap that is included. With the strap you can wear it across your body.

When I go out to the park with Pookah, the children’s museum, New Orleans etc. I always take this bag with me.

It’s really convenient to wear it across my body while I’m taking photos.

It’s heavy sometimes, but for what all I put in, what could you expect?

I love it, I really do. And I’m already plotting my next epiphanie bag. Maybe a Clover bag for Blogher……..
