Identity Crisis

I’ve been “off” for a week and I really loved it.

When I wasn’t worrying about my next post or whatever, I found time to do other things.  I took Pookah on his first ever field trip!

I took LOTS of photos!

I read books!

Ladies, PLEASE PLEASE go pick up a copy of 50 Shades of Grey…PLEASE!

I watched TV!!!

(If you haven’t tuned into Scandal yet, DO IT!)

I spent wifey time with this frowning man….

Amazingly, my other blog My Life’s Photos, that has been so neglected, got time from me.  It was easy. A quick photo, a quick blurb about it, and that was that. I restarted my 365!

So that leaves me in a blogging delimma. On the one hand, I love to blog, I love to write. I love the outlet.  But on the other hand, as I have stated before, it’s too much like work around here.

I’m having a blog identity crisis.

You see, I didn’t miss blogging per say last week….

Oh I missed the community, I missed writing, but I didn’t miss….blogging.

The awesomeness and freedom that  I feel over at My Life’s Photos is great.  Sure, I post everyday over there, but for some reason, I don’t feel as…rushed? I think because that blog is purely for me. I don’t give a hoot who sees it.  I’m just using it to improve my photography and to keep a record of our lives.

So how does a blogger solve this blogging identity crisis???

I don’t know.

Soooooo, I’ll be taking some time to figure all of that out.

I’ll still be posting while I figure it out, but probably not as often.

If you get bored, or have Pookah withdrawal, head on over to my other blog or instagram or twitter.  I’ll still be around!

And I’ll be thinking about the direction this blog will be taking from here on out.

Because it will be taking a new direction.

I’ve just got to take some time and marinate on exactly WHAT direction that is.

Until the next time….

Oh oh I must love blogging because when I took my week off I missed it but I think when you have a job plus doing everything else it gets hard. I think if I were to go back to work my blogging will be null and void this gives me something to do. Have you thought about making the photo blog your main blog and maybe just write an update post once a week? Whatever you do good luck and I will support you either way.

First, I have 50 Shades of Gray on my Kindle. I haven’t started it yet, but I’m glad to hear you liked it.

About the blog, I understand. As Kita said, life gets hectic. I don’t think blogging should feel like something you have to do, but something you want to do. I’m learning that if I don’t want to or simply don’t have the time to, then I just don’t. I, obviously, still read other blogs just to let writers I enjoy know I haven’t dropped off the face of the Earth! Do what you feel you have to. I will track down pictures of Pookah, with no problem! LOL

I’m currently on the second 50 Shades book. Not my usual genre but umm its good. I think it is hilarious that everyone is reading and talking about this type of book since it is so-called “mommy p.o.r.n”.

I never really feel pressured to post. I prefer to post when I have something going on or something to say. I don’t expect every blogger I read to post every day either. If you keep enough blogs in your reader, you always have something good to read!

its not my usual either! I think that i put pressure on myself to blog more than I can. I want to do so much, but I have so little time!

I think we all go through that now and again – or we evolve into our next phase. I’m going through something similar. What I really want to say though, is that your child is absolutely gorgeous! I love that picture with the ball. Sooooo cute. =)

I have been laying low myself. Just so much going on. I don’t feel bad, but like Veronica I try to use an editorial calendar and blog the entire week on Sundays and just schedule.

I am wanting to pick my camera back up as well and resurrect my photo blog. I just have to find the time.

Oh, how I can relate to this post! I didn’t do as much blogging last week, and I was able to get so much stuff in my real life done, like clean my closets, pay bills, organize pictures, print pictures, and enjoy reading. I think the important thing is to find a balance and to make sure that blogging does not, if it is not paying your bills, feel like a job. Whatever direction you decide to take, I’ll still be reading along!

I only blog when I have something to say so I never feel pressured. I always love your pictures. You know I love my birthday baby’s sweet little face. do what you have to do. Unless you’re getting paid, blogging shouldn’t feel like work.

Change is good ~ keeps things fresh. How great that you had time off (and your pictures are beautiful) … best part, you had time with your family and to think about what’s next for you … for your blog … here’s to your next step!

  14. I think it is good to take a break to put priorities in order if needed. Sometimes the blog has to take a back seat and that is OKAY. When I take a little time off I really miss the people and networking, so I can relate.
Do what you need to do, life changes and so does the blog. ;)
